Description
An anime about a website that can only be accessed at midnight
where one can type the name of the person they truly wish to take
revenge on and Jigoku Shoujo (Hell Girl) also known as Enma Ai and
her compatriots will make a pact and then carry out the revenge.
She and her companions deliver people to hell and have supernatural
powers which they use to torment their victim before taking them to
hell. Many times these powers are used in a transformative
manner... In nearly every episode one of the companions turns into
a straw doll which is used in making the pact... the three
companions also tend to take on various forms... Wanyuudo (the old
man) turns into a flaming wagon to transport enma ai, Ichimaku Ren
(the young man) takes the form of an all seeing eyeball, and
Hone-onna (the woman) takes on a skeletal form. There are times
when they transform into various people to decieve their victims,
but often keep to their true form just clothed differently to fit
into different situations.
There are also a few occasions where they transform their victim to
a degree. Including giving a woman a dog's face, a man a black hole
in place of his face, a doll-obsessed old woman into a life-sized
doll, and a few other similar things, usually appropriate to
whatever sins they have committed.
