"Why I'm Afraid of Bees" by R. L. Stine

Description

This is a well-done novel in the "Goosebumps" series in which a boy who wants to experience a few days as someone else physically is accidentally changed into a honeybee instead. The change isn't completely realistic, since, tho completely a bee, he still can see, hear, and even speak as he did while human, but the reader gets a nice sense of the helplessness and fear that "Gary" experiences in the hive and elsewhere. The ending is quite downbeat, as it seems that he really will die in that form, but everything turns out well. It's written for kids, after all. One of the better Stine books
