Description
The White Guardian sends the Doctor, K-9, and Romana on a quest to
find the Key Of Time, a powerful device capable of stopping or
slowing time, before the Black Guardian finds it.The Key,
ordinarily a cube, has been split into 6 parts, scattered through
time, and disguised. They find the first 5 segments, which are in
the forms of various inanimate objects like a necklace, a statue
etc. However, the sixth segment is in the form of a person,
Princess Astra of Atrios. The Black Guardian's servant, the Shadow,
turns Astra back into part of the Key. The Doctor manages to
separate the parts of the Key before the Black Guardian can use it,
returning Astra to her normal form. (PERSONAL NOTE: I believe this
story inspired the Dawn story on the Buffy The Vampire Slayer
television show)
