Description
In one of the subplots of this novel, a Vor woman (Lady Donna)
undergoes a sex change to become Lord Donal, in order to inherit
her brother's estate and to thwart the efforts of her odious
cousin. Not THE major subplot of the novel, but one of the
important ones to the story's resolution. Also, one of the novel's
characters (Ivan Vorpatril) makes an offhand comment to the effect
that perhaps some of Barrayar's excess male population might be
better off following Donna/Donal's example and returning to the
planet in a more "pleasing" form.
