Description
In this short story Franklin borrows an invention of his father's
that can turn "common organic matter into edible substances like
fruits and vegetables", and proceeds to display it at show and tell
where he turns his entire class and teacher into said objects. The
students become a pear, a banana, a watermelon, an orange, an
apple, a bunch of grapes, a tomato and a piece of broccoli and the
teacher also becomes an apple.
They are restored using a device that reverses 'cellular
alterations' but one of the kids still has an apple stem sticking
out of his head when its all done, and Franklin nearly ate an apple
while waiting for a way to turn them back.
Also appeared originally in the backup stories from the 2005 Power
Pack series.
