Movie: Nimona 2023 (based on the fantasy novel of the same name).
Transformations: Changeling (Nimona) - shape shifting into various animals/people for a disguise
or infiltration.
This new movie is about a knight named Boldheart (Blackheart in the novel version) who encounters a red-haired girl named Nimona who is a shape shifter/changeling. This girl can transform into various animals and people, including an armadillo, an ostrich, a rhinoceros, a horse, and a whale as well as her true form, a large dragon with wings and fire breath. She also impersonates Boldheart to lead the guards away from him and then double back disguised as a rat.
Nimona and Boldheart team up in the novel and the movie version to uncover secrets behind why Boldheart is being framed for killing the Queen by a group known as the Institution after a joust between Boldheart and Goldenlion, a Knight and friend of Boldheart's who becomes the Champion of the realm after causing Boldheart to lose his arm in the joust. The world is part technology, part magic, but the Institution is more interested in capturing Nimona to learn more about her powers.
