Movie: Child's Play 1, 2, 3, Bride of Chucky, Seed of Chucky, Curse of Chucky, Cult of Chucky, and the new Chucky TV series Wednesdays on USA/SyFy 9pm/8 Central.
Inanimate (human soul into doll, doll becomes alive)
Synopsis: The immoral Hillside Slasher, Charles Lee Ray (Brad Douriff) is a serial killer who is being pursued by a police detective through a toy store and fatally shot. Charles Lee Ray transfers his soul into a nearby Good Guys doll using the power of a voodoo ritual.
Andy Barclay gets the possessed Good Guy doll as a gift from his mother and leads to a series of murders of the family cat, Andy's Aunt Maggie, the getaway driver, and the voodoo master who taught Charles Lee Ray aka Chucky how to transfer his soul into bodies. Chucky plans to switch bodies with Andy towards the end of the movie, only to fail as he spent his last 24 hours in the doll form. The police detective, Andy, and Andy's mother finally destroy the evil doll.
The toy company who produces the Good Guy Dolls starts a new batch of dolls, and Chucky is back in Childs Play 2. Chucky continues to slash his way to Andy and his foster sister Kylie and is foiled in his attempt to possess Andy's body.
Bride of Chucky introduces Jennifer Tilly as Tiffany Valentine, Charles Lee Ray's devoted lover. She uses the voodoo spell to bring Chucky back after he is destroyed by Andy and his platoon in Childs Play 3. Chucky kills Tiffany in the bathtub with a television set and sends her soul into the bride doll. Both decide they need human forms to live forever, so they go on a murder spree and kidnap a young couple for the ritual, which fails.
It is revealed that Chucky and Tiffany have a genderfluid son/daughter, Glen and Glenda in Seed of Chucky. Glen doesn't want to murder people, but Glenda takes after her mother. Eventually, they get human forms thanks to Chucky and Tiffany.
Tiffany takes over the body of actress Jennifer Tilly by curse of Chucky and remains there for the Chucky TV series. Nica Pierce, who is the daughter of the woman Charles Lee Ray murdered while she was in the womb, ends up possessed by Chucky in Curse of Chucky. Nica is played by Fiona Dourif, the daughter of Brad Dourif, who voices Chucky.
The TV series has Andy and Kylie travelling around and destroying Chucky's army of dolls he created using his amulet to transfer his soul into any inanimate doll or a living soul, like Nica.
Season 2 has a new group of kids on a mission at their new school/church parish fighting Chucky, who has been mailed to the church to cause mayhem and murder. The kids managed to brainwash one of the Chucky dolls to be "good". There are several variant Chucky dolls including a Buff Chucky and one who has had his head shaved.
Nica has been fighting the possession of Chucky in the new series and is kept as a prisoner by Tiffany/Jennifer Tilly at one of her mansions. Glen and Glenda arrive to meet their mother and discover Nica with her arms and legs removed. She claims Jennifer Tilly has been keeping her a prisoner for a year.
