Journey to the West
Transformations - Son Wukong has mastered 72 different transformations in his personal story arc and uses these to pose as a Princess trapped by Pigsy. Pigsy has limited transformation abilities as he assumes a human male form to take a bride for himself. He also poses briefly as a young girl (with Monkey King as a young boy) to trap the Fish Spirit (who was Kwan-Yin's pet goldfish in human form).
Journey to the West is an allegorical story set in ancient China and India. The main protagonist, a Buddhist Monk called Tripti kata and his fellow adventurers Son Wukong (the Monkey King), Pigsy, a former Celestial reborn as a pig man, Friar Sandy, a former water demon turned monk, and a white dragon who assumes the role of the Monk's horse, travel to India to pick up Holy Books from a Buddhist monastery and deliver them to the Tang Emperor. Along the way, our heroes encounter demons and other creatures who shapeshift to oppose our heroes.
White Bone Lady Spirit - She assumes the form of a young woman, an elderly woman, and an elderly man to trap the monk and his team.
Red Son (Red Boy) - Son of The Terrible Bull Demon King and Princess Iron Fan. He has impersonated Kwan-Yin to lure Pigsy into the cave of Sahdemi (where Red Son unleashes his Fire of Sahdemi against Son Wukong). Sun Wukong transforms into Red Boy's father to get information from him prior to discovering Red Son's powers over fire. Red Son is able to uncover his fake father's deception when some of his questions are not answered truthfully.
Sun Wukong uses his transformation ability early to pose as a Taoist Sage invited to the Peach Festival and help himself to the food and drinks to make him super Immortal. He uses the Taoist sage form to talk to Monks at the Slow Cart Kingdom about their plight involving three Immortals who reveal themselves as Tiger, Deer, and Goat Strength Immortal.
Tiger, Deer, and Goat Strength Immortal are human forms of a Tiger, Deer, and Goat who pose as Immortals and use other lesser spirits to convince the Ruler of the Slow Cart Kingdom to ban all Buddhist monks and make them do hard labor. Monkey and his friends challenge the Immortals to a series of challenges to expose their deception and get their travel papers for safe passage signed by the Ruler for their journey.
