Algid Bunk, Queen of R'yleh, is revealed to be King Abdul Alhazred in one of his many forms. He spends nearly the entire movie in either this form or a more horrifying version of it.
Based on the Arcana graphic novel of the same name, the artistic style skews towards the younger set and is reminiscent of "Corpse Bride".
Abdul returns in the sequel, Howard Lovecraft & The Undersea Kingdom, in his true form but very briefly reintroduces himself to Howard in his Algid Bunk guise.
