Jumanji Karan Gillian has said "Yes I’m wearing child sized clothes and YES there is a reason! The payoff is worth it, I promise!” could this be due to an AP during the film? Time (and trailers?) will tell ;)

Correction, technically yes on AP, there are three TG characters. Four teenagers are in the avatars of the game.

Why are they not all in children's clothes? Seems odd that it's only the female avatar in kids clothes?

My bet is that Karen isn't an Avatar, that she is the only child actually in the game (Like Ribin William) but I dunno, The Rock said her character was the most important (so the lead right?) in the new film... Maybe that's why?

The AP is pretty much confirmed at this moment. All four adult leads are the adult avatars of the youngsters playing the game.

As such, it may very well be that these four new stars are the alter egos of those four jungle avatars. In the previous Jumanji, the game is magic, and you start to live it, so it's not cut seens of the virtual world, they are really living it.

my guess is that jack black will play the TG'd character.

another article on that site mentions that the players pick an avatar name and become that character for the duration of the game, the jack black avatar is named professor shelly oberon, so i'm betting one of the female characters chooses that name thinking it's a female avatar.
