Oh, OK, I guess it got lost in there.
No, no-one changed back. Unlike all the other versions, the two
people who swapped ended up getting married to each other. There
was a brief dream sequence at the very start of the third season
where the lead had a nightmare where she'd swapped back but then
she woke up.
Some of those older threads had people saying they didn't like this
turn of events and wanted it to end like the others but I actually
like how many versions did something different, who wants to see
the same thing done over and over again 13 times? That's also why I
stand up for the Portuguese one as that's probably the most
'realistic' and it's nice to see that scenario play out at least
once.

No problem. It'll be good for me too, save me from having to repeat
myself whenever this topic comes up. I'll try and space posting in
that thread to no more than 1/day, so I'll copy Belgium across
tomorrow and periodically write the rest then (some can be combined
entries).

Wow. I just downloaded and watched Margosha Season 3, which I had
never watched. Season 3 was pretty good, after Season 2 was kind of
a flop.
I wish I spoke some Russian, as to understand about the earrings.
Did anyone else notice Margot never wears earrings in the entire
series? There was a point in Season 3 that may have shed some light
on it:

So if anyone who has Season 3, it would be great to understand that

She gets dolled up for a night out in Season One Episode 19.

As this site is a catalog of transformations, let me share some
more Margosha stuff. I speed watched some episodes this weekend and
read some online sites in Russian, via Google translate. It was
still confusing, so please excuse me if I am wrong about any
interpretations. I do not speak Russian.
To answer the OP question, it appears there are 5 seasons of
Margosha, though I don't think anyone outside of Russia has seen
beyond season 3.
There are episode by episode descriptions here:
Margosha.net
Google translate will let you read them, though it is a rough
translation.
Has anyone scene video evidence of seasons 4 and 5?

I'm going to call bs on this. It's probably an April Fool's joke or
fan fiction. I remember a long time ago someone tried to pull
something like this about the Chile Lola and it was fake. It would
be cool if it was true but no I don't think it is real.

Holly,
I have checked that site through Google Translation and it looks
like "Season 4", "Season 5" & "Margot. 20 Years Later" are just
fanfic written by the site owner. The commentators in that site
even use inverted commas to refer to them (like "fourth season"),
implying that it is not official. Also they use term such as
"readers" (instead of viewers).
|
From: Holly Dunn
, 90 months, post #28 |
Bud, what are you calling fake? Hmm... very possibly seasons
4&5 may be a fan fiction. But there are like 90 episodes
summarized in each. And every episode, all 240 in seasons 1-3 are
summarized on the same site.
The fact that there is no video I've ever seen past season 3 is an
indication of this. But what throws me is why there would be a
bunch of one page summaries for season 4&5.
Also, I bought DVD's off of eBay and they were pirated TV
recordings. So to think 4&5 couldn't exist but couldn't get out
of Russia seems real also.
I was shocked season 3 existed for 90 more episodes after 60 season
one episodes and 90 season 2.
And yes,a person did walk on the moon. Lol.

There's nothing stopping people adding things to imdb even if the
video is (somehow) inaccessible (which seems even less likely these
days) provided it's real.
Sounds like fanfic to me. I've seen people do things like write
scripts for whole extra seasons of things like Neon Genesis
Evangelion as just one example.
|
From: Holly Dunn
, 90 months, post #30 |
Yeah, upon inspection it appears "Seasons 4&5" are fanfic, even
though they read like synopses of the other 240 episodes. They were
really short, and I can't believe people posted like 100 of these
for "two seasons."
I ordered what I thought were legit copies of season two of this
one and all of Filopino Lalola online but they were over the air
recordings that someone had pirated and I paid good money for.
There aren't any episodes of Margosha on Youtube and Vimeo anymore
(episode 1 is there, but the other 239 aren't.) I hate to suggest
finding torrents or other downloads, but I also fear this three
year not-for-sale 240 Russian serial may soon be lost to time.
I'll see about posting some notes regarding highlights which
include dressing as a man before getting shunned by the women,
leaving, and returning to the office full femme, erotic dreams
about a male coworker, and wedding fantasies.
Anyway, the Russian Lalola series called Margosha or "Маргоша" in
Russian is my favorite of the Lalolas.
Wishing to be someone else, the main character struggles for
self-acceptance and eventually finds a way to lover herself and her
man. It is really touching.

Have you looked at the official site? This seems to be all three
seasons. Or am I mistaken on that?

From: Holly Dunn

The conversion rate of "300,00" rubles to .16 dollars comes out to
$480, unless I am mistaken. the Russian comma may be in a different
pace. or maybe a comma means a period. I'd probably buy it for up
to $70 USD, but ordering $480 off of a Russian site is not in my
comfort zone. They also make no mention of US shipping, and the
country dropbox doesn't work in my browser. I got burned ordering
Season 2 of the Russian series and the full Filipino series off of
eBay. How "official" is this official Russian site?
If anyone can correct me on the price and the shipping to the USA,
I'll consider buying it.

maybe a comma means a period
Yes, in many European countries the comma and period have their
meanings swapped
compared to American use and I believe Russia is one of them. (Is
that a metamorphosis? Yeah, I know. Not funny)
Anyway, I recall that when the U.S. put sanctions on Russia a
couple of years ago the exchange rate of 30 rubles per dollar
soared to 60 rubles per dollar and I stopped watching after the
ruble rose back to 50 to one. In any case, currently it is:
Russian Ruble: 1 RUB = 0.0154080 USD
↔
US Dollar: 1 USD = 64.9015 RUB
300.00 rubles is basically, like, 5 bucks.

the scenes video) here:

The clip Air Gear linked above was the wedding at the end of the
series. Only in two wedding fantasies, and two episodes at the end
of season 3 does she wear earrings. They are the wedding shower,
and the wedding itself, though she does wear earrings to the office
in the series finale (Season 3 Episode 90, I believe.) That is
interesting to me, because she gets more feminine throughout the
series, and that is a surprising differential. Since the full
episodes are getting harder to find, I've cataloged some highlights
from the 60 season first season. I don't speak Russian, so I cannot
guarantee their accuracy.
Margosha was my favorite of the Lalolas.
Episode 01 – The transformation happens. The new woman dresses in a
skirt and goes to work.
Episode 09—She brings a lesbian back to the house, but can’t go
through with making love. She goes to work wearing a man’s suit,
only to be chastised by the women. She goes shopping and returns in
a short dress.Episode 16 44:39—Margot waxes her legs
Episode 17—Margot goes on date with Andrei and has her first
period. She goes to a drug store for feminine products.
Episode 19—An investor in the magazine sees her picture and insists
on meeting her. The staff goes out to a bar, and several staff
members including the boss call her to come out. She shows up in a
little black dress with her hair curled around the 41:35 mark.
Episode 20—She ends up in a date with the investor. He takes her to
his hotel room and is all over her. She blindfolds him to the bed
and calls a hooker.
Episode 39—Erotic Dreams about a male co-worker.
Episode 40—The fantasies work their way into daydreams. The set of
the sexy men’s magazine shoot looks like her erotic dream. She
calls her friend’s radio show because there is a psychologist on
the show. The expert says the feelings are natural.
Episode 42—Wedding fantasy at 18:55 mark. Wears earrings in
fantasy.
Eoisode 44—First real kiss at end of episode.
Episode 45—Passion and kissing continues.
Episode 47—Appears to get her period again, which now affects her
sex life.
Episode 54—She takes a date, an escort, to the office party to make
her Andrei jealous. Andrei had gotten back together with Natasha,
from the office. At the office party, she hangs on the guy quite a
bit. But they leave when a male stripper goes up on stage.
Epoisde 60—In the season finale, Margo gets together with Andrei.
In previous two or three episodes, Margo had been out with a
lesbian, but rejected her advances. The season ends with Margo and
Andrei kissing.

Maybe the earrings thing is just a preference of the actress?
|
From: guest (Bud)

I still don't get how the guy in a woman's body fell for the woman
in his male body.
I think the earrings thing is probably just a continuity hole. Or
maybe not. The guy's body was transformed into the woman's body so
maybe the body is just like hers so the ears are pierced and the
cherry is popped.

Maybe it's just as simple as they were the only two people in the
world who could understand what the other was going through (as far
as they know). I don't really find it any more strange than for
some reason, how the sexual orientation of the main character seems
to flip in most versions very quickly (at least the Philippines
puts in an explanation - magic and Portugal - doesn't flip it).
I also liked how this version did a number of things the others
didn't. These include:
1) ID documents - we're all recorded on a lot of systems. This
actually came up with a solution that could in theory work as each
took on each other's identity. Well, once they extricated
themselves from that "I'm his cousin."
2) Dealing with the parents - a few of the others did like Portugal
(tell the truth, or at least as much as people will believe - how
novel), the Philippines (actually give a role to that ties into the
plot to a significant degree) - also especially have to extricate
themselves from the whole cousin thing as if there's anyone who
would know that's not true, it'd be them.
3) Actually deal with when "he" comes back from his sudden trip
away due to a family emergency. I think most of the others seem to
either have him disappear, never to be seen again again or in a few
cases, reappear claiming to be someone else.
