Ok, so I found this blog. It has the Youtube video of the original
trailer. You can watch it in the blog or in Youtube.
http://blogs.lanacion.com.ar/esto-no-es-hollywood/uncategorized/carla-peterson-una-super-estrella-suplente/
I don't read Spanish so I translate it using Google. It appears
that the actress is Nancy Duplaa but apparently she and many other
actors dropped out when the station changed the concept from a tv
film to a tv series. Perhaps this is inevitable since a series
would typically takes longer time to shoot than a film and of
course it will clash with the schedule of some actors.
From the video it appears that the actor who plays Lalo in this
trailer is the one who plays Facundo in the series.
I Google a few more links and from translation it appears they
heavily edited the script when they were doing reshooting. The
company in which Lalo works was originally an advertising agency
instead of a magazine.
The actor who played Facundo in the original trailer is billed as
second male lead and the love line between him & Lola doesn't seems
to be an important part of the story. The first male lead is
someone who apparently held a high position in the company and it
appears that there is no love line between him & Lola. This is not
surprising though. Compared to series, it is far more common in
film that first male lead and first female lead are not couple.
So we can speculate that since the love interest of Lola is only
billed as second male lead and their love story is not emphasised
(and the trailer only shows he has fall in love at the first sight
on her, but there is no indication that Lola will fall for him in
the future!), the original script was probably intended for Lola to
changed back to be a guy at the end. This make sense in for a film.
For her to prefer a being a woman, you need 100+ episodes to do
that and the short span of time in a movie will not have the
audience convinced that someone who had lived his entire life as
man will want to stay as a woman.
So what do you think?
Will Nancy Duplaa makes a better Lola, or Carla Peterson is better?
Advertising company or magazine, which one do you prefer?
Facundo as second male lead & the Lola-Facundo love story being
deemphasised (probably only a one sided crush by Facundo!), do you
think this would make it better?
If Lola turns back to be man at the end, do you think this would
make a better ending than the Carla Peterson version?
Imagine the implication if my speculation about the original script
is true and they chose to stick with it!... Probably all of the
foreign adaptions will have Lola changes back in the end. I have
the feeling that most of the adaptions only choose to have Lola
stays as woman because that is what it is in the original
Argentinian version. if the Argentinian version choose to have Lola
changed back to male, probably all the other adaptions would do the
same!
This is an interesting "what could have been" situation...

I've seen this before but I'd have to say Carla Peterson, though.
Admittedly it's not exactly a fair fight since we have so much more
to go with for her part in the role.
Mind you, I'm a bit of an outlier because my favourite version is
the Portuguese version, though I feel they missed a big opportunity
with the ending (both of them).

What do you prefer as the ending for Ele E Ela?

That's a difficult question. I don't think it helped that both of
them were basically tacked on at the very end of the series. I also
felt it was a missed opportunity as almost the entire office never
ever found out, so basically you ended up having two almost
unrelated stories running that never met - and the whole magazine
side of things was never that interesting to be honest.
I actually came to think that if the mad scientist actually had a
press conference on TV and after someone asked if it worked with
humans, she 'outed' Julio, that would have made an interesting
final day at the office to say the least and tied the two different
storylines together.
OK, for the actual endings that we did get:
Well the one where he changes back when given the opportunity
probably makes the most sense. That's really the most realistic
outcome (I know, I know). Unfortunately, it kind of negates the
whole storyline he had going with his father.
What I liked about this version was how he was upfront with his
father almost from the outset (fairly unique for these spinoffs -
though his hands were forced a bit by the threat to go to the
police) and they do actually have a nice subplot going where after
the initial shock, his father (and later aunt) are really
supportive (probably too supportive with the whole 'find a nice man
and settle down' side of things). I mean Julio is constrained a bit
by the fact that getting his family to accept what really happened
as being just too fantastical, so he has to go with the well, this
is who I really was so I went and did this. Of course this all gets
complicated by how is he going to explain after all this why (and
even more so) how he changed back. Then the series ends though so
we don't have to worry about that - just a bit unsatisfactory
though.
The other ending confusingly uses the exact same montage to show
his thought process as to not changing back as changing back. I
sort of took all that montage as making sense as to deciding not to
change back after remembering all the good times and thinking
things weren't so bad after all, to the point of staying that way;
doesn't really make any sense for the changing back version.
Anyway, another thing that's a bit odd is that if that was the way
the story went is that he, well I guess she now once that
decision's made can't just tell Gonzalo she's not interested
because she's gay. The show in all its versions seemed to shy away
from that as a possibility. I know it sort of comes up in the
original but there's no follow through.
Anyway, either way it kind of ends where it could have potentially
gotten interesting if they'd done just one more episode even. Mind
you, if they're doing 2 different endings, I can see how they
wouldn't want to waste money by filming two incompatible alternate
episodes.
I think this would have been a rare occasion to end it ambiguously
with Julio/Julieta looking at the pill in a container and thinking
he/she could take it any time but just not quite yet as they think
about it just a bit longer. After all, if it can be taken any time
in the future, what's the rush?

I prefer the Chilean version where he turns back into a man. I also
thought Blanca Lewin was super sexy.

How many more threads are going to be created for this series?

As many as it takes.

There were 13 different versions of this show and the US pilot
makes 14 I suppose. There's lot of different facets that can be
talked about, especially since many of the different versions
headed in quite different directions from the starting premise.
There's a lot of things the old threads didn't cover.
Also, necro-ing old threads tends to be less effective in getting
follow up posts than starting new threads with a clear reason in
the subject as to what the particular thread has brought up this
time and wants to discuss/focus on.

If this was a TV movie instead of a tv series I doubt it would be
remade in other countries.

A movie version of Lalola is basically just another Goodbye
Charlie. Don't get me wrong, but it's easily the most overused TG
formula ever. Look at Sam or Sex Trip for example, just to mention
a few recent ones. It would've been another one of those. Hell,
someone just posted a new czechis version a few hours ago!
The best thing about Lalola is the fact that it's a TV show. It
simply has way more time to develop storylines and such, and we
don't really have many TG centric live action series anyway, to say
the least. There's Lalola and it's remakes, and that's pretty much
it.
So in a nutshell: I'm glad they made it into a TV show rather than
a movie.
