Is there any story where guy transforms during prom and is trying
to change back but war's a dress anyway?

I�m not sure how locked in you are to that exact situation, but
over at Fictionmania, you can use their search tools to search the
categories �Prom Girl & Fancy Dress,� and �Magical Transformation�
and may be an age category and you will come up with lots of fully
transformed stories involving proms and prom dresses.
My story over there, �YOLO,� involves a section of the story where
a transformed Tight End agrees to go to a football awards banquet
with his best friend who is also the Quarterback. After an accident
happens with the dress that the transformed football player was
planning to wear occurs, he ends up borrowing the dress that his
girlfriend wore with him to prom just a few short months ago.
This brings up all kinds of feelings for everyone involved
including his girlfriend. To put it mildly, it begins to send her
over the edge.
The scene begins in chapter 16, but the seeds are set a few
chapters earlier when he needs to borrow the dress for another
reason.

Short story in Hottest Blood(third book in the series I believe)
called "Genderella". Fairy godmother turns a boy into a girl to go
to the prom. Interesting twist at the end. There was also a similar
story on Rendered TG(link on the links page) called Cindy where a
fairy godmother changes guy into girl to attend "the ball".
