There are many movies here that I'm not familiar with. But many I
know and I would disagree that they are all strictly "body swap"
films. I consider a swap movie to be where the soul of one living
person goes into the body of another living person. So, Day Watch
or Identity Theft would be true swap movies, but Goodbye Charlie or
Switch would feature instead reincarnation (of a strange types,
admittedly; the new bodies of the heroes seems to have been "built"
around dead souls by what seems to be supernatural means, but the
new body not due to a switch with another person.)
I agree that Day Watch's switch was pretty pointless. It didn't
have to be. They clearly didn't want to feature anything about
explorations of differences in the new body experience, but they
could have at least made the switch long enough to justify doing it
in the first place. The point where they swap back comes much too
early, and there is really no motive in the plot to end the swap at
that moment in the movie. It's as if they did it just as a rather
minor "incident" and the writers wanted to get past it. There could
not have had any idea about developing it.
And this from the country that gave the world the magnificient
"Margosha."
Thanks for the dubbed "Day Watch", Russia. Now send us a dubbed
"Margosha" and make some real money.

aras, I read the plot of The Chair on wikipedia. Does the spirit
possess Danielle and take full control of her body? Or does he just
"influence" her? It seems like the latter.

I would say "the chair" is possession.
If you watch the trailer it would have to be pretty powerful
"influence"

How is Margosha magnificent? I will admit that the female body in
it is one of the sexiest in the Lalola universe but please explain
how he marries the woman that was in his former male body. How does
that work? Would you marry a woman that was in your male body?

It would appear that the question in #25 is directed my way. I will
only qualify my description of "magnificent" by admitting that I
don't speak Russian. One of my parents was Russian, but us kids
weren't taught the language, to my continuing regret. Anyway, it's
a safe bet that the dramatic development is good; that nation of
playwrights isn't know for bad theater. It's in fact impressive
that a poor country like Russian can produce a daily serial with
quality sets, locations, and camera work, along with obviously
talented actors. The Russians indeed have a long and honorable
tradition in the arts. While strapped Eastern European countries
are pursuing a classic tradition in entertainment, here in America
our production companies, swimming with money, complain that they
can't afford to put on anything but cheap reality programming.
As for my understanding of the show, I've read whatever I could
find on the Margosha series, especially written by people who could
understand it's language and it clearly has enthusiastic fans. Its
regional release it was very successful, one of the longest-running
Lalola shows at 240 episodes, having an unheard of 3rd season. The
star, Maria Berseneva, is arguably the most beautiful of the
Margosha actresses (though others will have their own candidates).
The tone of the series appears to be more dramatic and less overtly
comic than the Latin versions. But romance remains strong and it
has that special quality lent by Slavic passion and sultriness. I
think Margot's character is more complex than most Lalola's; she
makes mistakes, sometimes the same mistake more than once, and
hurts people who don't deserve it, and hurts herself. The majority
of Lola's can be bullied to some extent, but Margot is especially
strong and formidable. She has a long-suffering suitor in Andre. As
far as I can see, he is just what she needs, but in the end he
loses out to that woman in Gosha's body. This character first
appears at the end of Season 2 ,as a lecherous egoist who totally
puts off Margot in their first meeting.
In relations to your question, post 25, I think she made a mistake
in marrying the new Gosha. I don't see that as a logical or even
appealing choice. Wouldn't such an alliance carry a lot of painful
memories? But was it a wrong plot move? Maybe. There wasn't a 4th
season.

For me personally, if I had to be put in one of the Lalolas bodies,
it would either be Margosha or Louislouise. And I would rather be
put in one of those bodies because they have better jobs. Wouldn't
you rather be put in woman's body that had a better job than to
keep your crappy job that you hate? So you would have a vagina, at
least you would have more money. And it would be nice to be able to
get men to do whatever I wanted just because of my breasts or butt.
Sorry for the randomness.
