There is anewTg movie scheduled for release in 2013 titled "SAM".
The synopsis at IMDB states "An alpha male is magically transformed
into a beautiful girl, falls in love with his best friend, and
learns what it means to be a woman". Check it out.

Sounds promising, especially the falling in love bit which might
meen he stays as a woman

Nothing has looked as promising as this since Eva Adams. And the
female lead actress is smoking hot. But it says it's in
pre-production so don't assume anything. I'll believe when I see
the trailer for it.

That's not a trailer but the lead actress confirming she'll play
Sam(antha)

A couple observations: The actress who plays Samantha looks a lot
like the actress in that french tv movie Si J(?) whatever it's
called. And the transformation sounds similar to the french movie
also. Maybe the director had that french movie in mind when he cast
her. The character, Sam(antha), has the same name as the Sweet
Revenge movie and the plot sounds sounds similar to Sweet Revenge.
Also, I'm GLAD that this not a body switch movie this is an actual
transformation and that the woman is not some comical big boobed
blonde like Ellen Barken. If the movie makes it past production I
would hopeful that it's going to at least be better than Switch
which was a disappointment.

All forehead and eyes and smile in the clip. Very cute. One could
do worse than being stuck as that woman...

The fact that they use "romantic" comedy as the description tells
me that this might be their attempt to make a Lalola movie. "Sam"
actually would have been a better name than "eva adams" for a
television series.

Fingers crossed for this and "Opposites Attract" making it through.

Don't count on "Opposites Attract" happening anytime soon. I
haven't heard any news on that movie in a couple of years. At least
Sam is completely cast and listed as in "pre-production" on IMDB.
It might not shoot until late this year the fact that most of the
cast only has Sam listed as their next project is a good sign that
its getting made.

I wasn't that interested in Opposites Attract anyways. I'm not that
big a fan of "body switch" movies because there have been so many
of them and they are all the same. I'm stoked about this film
because it's a "magical" transformation movie and there are so few.
Switch 1991 I think was the last major American transformation
movie but it was botched. Based on the 2 or 3 sentences describing
this movie it sounds like it has a lot of potential.

chris klein is in this means this movie is going to be a low budget
utter disaster

I'm very excited about this move, Chris Klein or no Chris Klein.
The more I think about it the more I think this will be a movie
adaptation of Lalola. In the cast they even mention there being a
"pizza boy". I'll bet you there's an awkward scene where Samantha,
only covered from the waist down, opens the door like they do in
most Lalolas.

The only part that sucks is filming doesn't start until fall. Does
this mean it will be released early next year?
And one more thing: I firmly believe that there is potential to
make a really great movie (not just great tg movie) if the writers
drop all of the tried and tried again cliches and try to make an
original stab at a switch movie. It can be done. Dreams Are
Harmless proved that. And based on the movie description I have
reason to be cautiously optimistic.

Good point about the Magical Transformation aspect of this, rather
than a switch. Which means we don't have half a film dealing with
the other character!

Thanks to Dutch for posting this. This is definitely something to
look forward to (cautiously). I hope that Switch gives a great
example to the SAM producers of how NOT to make the movie. In spite
of having a very popular (at the time) lead actress in Ellen
Barkin, Switch totally bombed. I believe it bombed because of its
lame one-joke, help-me-I'm-falling-in-my-high-heels premise. I hope
that the SAM producers make the movie that Kelly McGillis wanted to
make when she was up for the lead in Switch. According to her
quotes in Us magazine, Kelly McGillis wanted to make a movie that
was all about how a man would really feel if he was suddenly
transformed into a woman. She wanted to make a combo drama and
comedy, and had total disdain for the one-joke premise that Switch
used (and rightfully so).
