I just realized that every issue of the great old Tabloid Weekly World News is available on Google Books. You can search 'sex change' and come up with some great articles.

I remember in the '80's there seemed to be an obsession in that paper with involuntary sex-changes happening to various people. At least three stories come to mind right off the bat (boy?)

I found several articles about the hard luck hospital patient who went in for a hernia operation and came out a woman. I remember reading those as a teen and wishing I could be so lucky...

Well, it seems your best bet is to either buy a Mountain Dew from a vending machine and hope you get lucky or hit your head on a lamppost in India when you're looking for a Cadbury bar.
